If you frequent Atlantic City there is no better place to play poker than The Borgata poker room. You’ll find everything from small Limit and N/L games to high limit mixed games. For those of you stuck somewhere in the middle of that pack more recently they have been spreading a $10-$20 Limit Omaha H/L -Stud H/L mixed game. It may only go on the weekends, I don’t know.

Happy Holidays!

Nov 21th, 2008

So, the holiday season is upon us and it’s the time of year where everyone starts to do their holiday shopping for family and loved ones. As many of you know I started creating Handmade Jewelry as a hobby when our daughter Isabella was born. I have since turned that into a business and things are coming along smoothly.

It’s been a while since I’ve written mainly because my blogs keep getting stolen. This blog is mainly just going to be informative since the Borgata is my home poker room and they have one of the best tournaments of the year upcoming this September.

The Borgata Poker Open will begin on September 3rd and finish on September 18, 2008. The first tournament will be a $300 + $50 NL Hold’em tournament. Thereafter, buy-ins will range from $500 through $5000, and will mainly be NL Hold’em. This year they have thrown in $300 Limit Hold’em and $300 7 Card Stud tournaments as well. The Main Event will follow, and is the $10,000 Buy-In WPT Borgata Poker Open Championship. It will take place from Sunday, September 14th through Thursday, September 18th. The Borgata is guaranteeing $5 MILLION PRIZE POOL FOR CHAMPIONSHIP EVENT.

Mind, Body, and Spirit

On May 30, 2008 thousands of players will begin to embark on their journey to participate in what was once considered to be the most prestigious venue of tournaments ever to grace the circuit. I’ll explain that last statement later. When I started playing poker the entire World Series was a total of 21 days long, the number of entrants for each event was in the hundreds, there weren’t any mixed game tournaments, and with the exception of the main event the maximum buy-in for any tournament was $5000. My, oh my how times have changed!

Poker Etiquette

Apr 20th, 2008

What is good etiquette?

Sure, there have been articles written before but they are few and far between in my opinion. What is good poker etiquette? Do the same rules apply online as they do in live poker? I like to follow the age-old rule, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”. It doesn’t matter if you have inside information on a particular player from a reliable source who might have said “the guy you’re playing likes to stack you then quit”. You have to keep in mind that not everyone treats each player the same. The following circumstances apply to both live and online poker.
