Duplicate Poker in Its First Formal Public Event

As the legality debates rage on over online poker - is it gambling or a game of skill? - "duplicate poker" makes its first appearance among the more tradition fare at the Oklahoma State Poker Championships in Tulsa this week. Duplicate poker imitates the game of duplicate bridge, essentially removing the element of chance by making it a competition between players in the same seat on different tables, each of whom start each hand with identical cards, and the same number of chips. The winner must best his opponents by sheer skill, since he has no advantage in what he is dealt.
