Lady had 2 account with her lifesavings spread between those accounts, when Silver State Bank went donkdown the FDIC decided to combine her account totals and only insure the first 100k so she lost 20k, even tho it was in a separate account.

Free Tunes - Library Card FTW

For Vegas Locals - or those planing to move to LV...

Get a library card in Vegas STAT.

The Vegas Libraries have huge collections of music and movies you can borrow for free. Example - today I browsed through the collection and 'borrowed" 26 CDs that I found interesting....AKA 26 CDs I wanted to burn....(fuck you Itune and your 99 cents a song bullshit.)

That's right, 26 CDs I can burn for free and not pay for...that's gotta be the best +EV spot in town. I asked what the limit is...it's 50. You can gank music from 50 CDs at a time for free, all you need is a Vegas DL. Your lazy ass gets 2 weeks to burn them, get better....it does, you can check without having to deal with the library staff (via computer) so you don't have to be embarrassed about your blatant music thievery. Include "itunes for dummies" with your checkouts if you like....that is, after I return it.

I still have a couple weeks of work to do at the ENTERPRISE library on LVB (south) and....umm, windmill, but I will be pimping all the LV Library branches as I can.

Leaving Vegas is going to suck when I have to......

Course Phil wins the pot, but even when he gets is poker money in good, he still ends up making a -EV move with the insurance.

The only way I see Phil's -12k decision as even decent, is if he's prone to tilt off a couple hundred thousand if he loses this pot. He's a "pro poker player" who should be looking to get his money in good, not leak off $$ as soon as he gets a dealt a hand that has a chance of losing. Only time insurance even be a consideration is if a large portion of your BR is on the line, or if by losing the pot you go busto (obv. not the case with Phil). He also passed on his opponents offer to run it twice, he's rather spend 12k instead of taking the same odds twice while lowering his deviation for the situation.
