Hand question I played in deep stack tourney

I would like some feedback on a particular hand that came up in a live deep stack tournament that I played recently . Did I play this wrong , Was it a bad call honest feedback would be greatly appreciated .


Blinds are 200-400 I am on the button with 19,400 chips. I have been at the same table for 2 hrs and have a very good read on the whole table.

3rd to act makes it 900 , 4th to act calls , 5th to act calls , 6th to act calls. makes the pot 4200 . I look down and am staring at 5-6 off suit . 900 to call on the button seems like I cant fold in this spot as the odds are just to juicy as I can basically deduct that the original raiser has an a-big and the callers could range from any to big suited cards to medium range pocket pairs.

In my mind I am thinking its the correct call.

To my surprise the small blind after I make the call pushes in for 10,000 straight . The Big Blind flat calls the 10,000 and leaves himself 2,400 behind.

Its folded back around to me and now I have to call 9,100 more with this horrible hand but I absolutley without a doubt know the sb has aces. Guy is a rock and I have played in many tournaments with him. The BB with the flat call must have A-k or A-Q in this spot because he did not push over all his chips so I Make that assumption as he is on some sort of drawing hand.

I calculate the 4200 now of dead money plus 20,000 from the raise and call. pot stands and 24,200 and I have to call 9,100 more and most likely if no big cards come on the flop the BB will check the hand down.

I make the call to see a flop of J-6-2 . BB Checks , I check . A Four hits the turn . Check check . A Five comes on the river BB Checks I bet out 1200 and he folds . I turn over my 2 pair and the small blind shows his aces . I take down the pot.

Remember I was leaving myself 9,000 behind if I lose this pot.


Even though I won the pot , Was this a horrible play on my part? The guy to my right folded j-j and basically called me a complete retard and I disagree regardless of the outcome.

Amtrak Sucks Except

I am a 39 yr old typical white male. I play poker not much for a living as I am stuck 50k in the last year and a half online while I do show a profit in live tournaments but not enough to cover the huge loss I took playing online. I am not a player in life . When I was younger I used to get alot of woman bit basically gave that all up when I ended up on the streets for awhile in Las Vegas .

The street of Las Vegas are no place to be broke that I promise you. Anyways back to my story . I take an annual trip to the east coast to visit my son once a year he is now 18 and I do not fly . I dont fly because when I was a kid I witnessed a plane crash at an air show and just decided it was not for me. On previous trips I have driven but this time decided instead of driving to take Amtrak .

Greyhound is the only other choice and the last time I had ridden greyhound a litlle kid kept punching my legs from under the seat . His mother said he was autistic so I put up with it for about 200 miles. I live in Arizona so a trip to the east coast on greyhound is 2.5 days and on Amtrak its 4 days. I figured I could get up walk around go to the dining car etc. Only problem with any public transportation is im a smoker and thats not a good thing because of the long times in between stops.

The first night on the way to San Antonio was uneventfull . I slept mostly and we had a lay over for 8 hrs in San Antonio where you could either stay on the train or get off the train and stay off for the entire 8 hrs. I chose to stay off the train smoke and I wandered over to a bar near the station. I had noticed a woman around my age whom was traveling with her mother they where walking towards a Dennys further down the street. As I sat there in the bar I had a beer and a shot and then another shot and walked back to the station. Sitting there with about 5 hrs to kill smoking away I figured what huge mistake I made by staying off the train .

This woman and her mother come over to the bench im sitting on and we start talking . Regular stuff where your from what you do etc etc . Her mom left and we decided to walk back down to Dennys to have somee coffee and talk. Now I knew from my younger days if this woman was going to walk 8 blocks at 3 am too a dennys with a person she just met she most likely would do anything?

Dont get me wrong ive been living with the same woman for 2 yrs now and things are good between her and I . The thought of getting some strange got me super excited and made me feel like somebody betting there entire stack into me while I hold the goods. We talked for about 2 hrs at the Dennys and then on the way back to the station I flipped a homeless man a $5.00 bill to make myselef look even better. I usually would not do that even though I was homeless once myself.

We got back on the train around 6 am and she had asked if I wanted to move seats and sit next to her . They where headed to Illinois. I ofcourse took the opportunity and we both fell asleep from being awake all night. After a long sleep we woke up and immediatley started drinking . Drinking on Amtrak isnt cheap I spent almost $100.00 on Beer and Vodka In a span of about 8 hrs. We where sitting in the observation car by this time and I was feeling very buzzed and I could tell she was as well. I mentioned I wish there was a place we could have some privacy and she obliged . I had noticed that one of the rooms down below was not a bathroom but a room to change your clothes in . It had a split off room . If you have ridden Amtrak you know what im talking about. I asked if we should go down there . She was all systems go and we headed down there.

This woman was very petite maybe 100lbs . As I go 5 foot 10 inches tall and prbably 180 at the time it was a tight fit for both of us in that small room and The clothes came off instantly . She rode me front and back but I couldnt get a nut off . We had to be in there for what seemed like atleast an hr and finally I got her up on the sink and from behind and she grinded back on me and I got the job done. Exhausted we cleaned up and headed to our seats where her mother and aunt where sitting. After about 2 more beers we decided to go for round two . This time it was even better but again I couldnt get a nut off . I think it was just the fucking room was so small so she knew I was having problems and said lets go back to our seats . I was dissapointed but when we got back to our seats she got me to take my pants off as we had a blanket over us she took hers off as well and she slid my cock into her wet pussy . People all around us asleep or not it took me like 5 minutes to get my 2nd nut off .

After another long sleep we awoke and her stop was coming up. We exchanged numbers even though I really didnt want to see her again as I am in a relationship. So she gets off woth her family at there stop and I come to find out that her Dead Grandmother was also on the train and thats the purpouse of there trip to take her home and bury her. I was creeped out for sure now.

I get to the east coast and she calls me a few times and I am definetly getting the feeling that this woman is a bit crazy but hey crazy is good sometimes. She starts asking me about where I live and if she could come around when I get back etc etc. I tried to blow it all off . I had already had plans the 2nd week I was back to attend a Tournament at Binions so since she lived somewhat on the way to vegas I told her I would stop and see her.

So on my way to vegas i figure ill stop and see her and take her out too dinner and maybe ill get a little more strange. She starts drinking instantly when I get there and we go to some hick bar and drink more . I am downing captain and cokes double fisted because I know this chick is just a total loon now and I need to get the fuck out of my mind. We go to dinner and she kept babbling on about stuff I had no clue about and other people where noticing so when the dinner was over I tipped the waitress $50.00 on a $70.00 dinner and apologized and got this chick home. So she starts asking if she can go to vegas with me and at this point im drunk and 6 hrs from vegas and the tourney starts at 4:00pm the next day and its like midnight , Im drunk and alls I want to do is Fuck this woman and get out of there. So We get down to it and fall asleep I wake up and Fuck her good again all doggy with her nice ass and then I get up its 7 am im hung over . I shower and she is half asleep I say I have to leave.

I tell her maybe next time she can go to Vegas . I drive the 6hrs hung over like a dog . My G/F keeps calling me and im getting no reception. I make it to binions with 40 minutes to register. I get in and for the first time in my life im out of a H.O.R.S.E tourney before the dinner break. I was sick and just wanted a room and wouldnt you fucking know I couldnt find a room anywhere . Fucking Vegas. I stayed up all night and then Binions finally got me a room after I played 4-8 limit horse all fucking night . Atleast I eeked out a $180.00 Profit from that fishfest.

Well Thats my true story I have plenty more like the time I went broke in vegas and hitc hiked to arizona bought a tent and lived in the national forest for 3 months working day labor to get a roll back together.
