C:\Program Files\Full Tilt Poker\StmOCX.dllWithin the past couple weeks I completetly uninstalled, deleted the C:\Program Files\Full Tilt Poker\ folder, and did a reinstall, so I know this file is part of a very recent install of Full Tilt.
Why do I think this file is suspicious? If you right click this file and bring up the file properties, Digital Signatures tab, you'll notice that this file is digitally signed by iovation.
Iovation is a company closely tied to Ultimate Bet and it's founding members, and their software was used by Ultimate Bet and Absolute Poker to audit their gaming, during which time both sites had scandals where millions of dollars were stolen from players (great auditing software, obviously).
The Details tab of this file's Properties window show that the file description is ReputationShield. A google search of reputationshield and iovation showed this article:
http://www.businesswire.com/portal/site/go...amp;newsLang=en - which makes this sound like some sort of glorified spyware.
Based on what I've read about the UB scandal, frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if some iovation higher ups were directly involved in the scandal (apparently there are names being withheld of several people besides Russ H who were involved). I want no iovation related software on my computer. I deleted this file from my Full Tilt program folder, and Full Tilt still functions seemlingly properly. Note that I have no idea what Full Tilt uses this file for, maybe it's only used when new accounts are created, or when depositing or withdrawing money.
Druff, any thoughts?
