So I was able to get the account created and funded at PokerStars last night (used the NWP marketing / bonus codes) and they took the eCheck just fine, despite declining my credit card attempt, which I expected.
I noticed an immediate difference in my play on stars. I played Stars a LOT about 5 years ago (I think, before Moneymaker won the WSOP), and I always felt comfortable even though I didnt win as much as I did on Party. Anyhow, I donked off my BR from a few years ago on FTP and never felt comfortable really. The games at lower stakes seemed harder to beat, with more reckless players and better players than what I remember. Bear in mind thats not an arrogant statement, I know im not good, I just wasnt consistently BAD before I left but playing at FTP the last couple days kinda made me feel that way, lol.
So back at Stars, and comfortable. I'm not sure how much aesthetics have to do with play style, concentration, etc. but the old familiar theme (once I downloaded it), sounds and 'feel' let me settle right in. I played a 6-Handed S-n-G and won it in about an hour and 15 minutes. I know thats not very good with regards to profit per hour, but i'm just feeling things out.
So my strategy is to play 2-4 of these per night and hopefully graduate up to the 10-12 dollar range per 6-Handed S-n-G. I'd like to also hit the occasional (1-3x per week) MTT and have been looking for some with low buy-ins and decent value (small fields, guaranteed prize money, etc.).
So, is 10x buy-ins a decent bankroll to keep grinding these S-n-G's or would you recommend hitting the actual ring game tables instead. I currently have about $60 in the account and my goal right now is to get as much poker as I can out of it, hoping to reclaim my old skills, see a lot of hands and consistently build back to a decent low-stakes bankroll.
I know this is way low in terms of amounts, much lower than you ever play but maybe just some conceptual advice could help me.
Thanks
