ANy good FPS or skill multiplayer games?

I used to play CS back in the day, looking for a new multiplayer FPS game i can play. Is COD4 the best right now? I prefer games with higher skill caps, and no bullshit farming like retarded MMO's like world of warcraft and other gay games in order to compete at the highest levels.

Anyone play any? Thinking of downloading COD4 off of steam.
