Got in a bit of a spawny streak against the small ballin Noles today and this pot came up I wanted to ask about.

Do good players always autocheckraise the rainbow low poss made straight against an SB/BB 3 bettor or do they give up on the Q rag type hands? I don't think I've ever seen a top player not CR here. Is it an auto get em to fold the overcards with any two situation or is he just doing it with 80% of his hands that aren't worthless?

He'd been playing me long enough to see I wasn't making any crazy moves.

Same thing happened here. I think maybe I should've called him down.

With these new HORSE tables on Stars, something you get quite a lot is people joining in the stud sections, getting involved and not being prepared to sit out a few hands when Holdem comes around. So they just post UTG or whatever.

Of course, when you find yourself in this situation in NL, with four blinds, two of which have already checked, you take a 72 off and raise it up the size of the pot. As you get called loads in limit, what are your minimum requirements for stealing on the button. I hate it when I get something that is just a little too weak for me to try it every time. I'd probably do it with a T9offsuit or T8suited. I think you just need a reasonable chance to have the best hand if you flop a pair, but I'm compulsive.

Have you all tried www.4tv.com yet? The women on the one channel I've tried so far (Adult TV1) aren't all that, but you might get a hottie eventually. I only found this a few minutes ago.

We all know that the way Pokerstars calculates chipchops favours the larger stack but it's hard to estimate exactly how much you are losing if you are short and you agree to the deal as suggested by Stars. The problem is the calc assumes all the spare change goes to first when a lot of it goes to second and maybe more players if more than 3 people are chopping.

If you happen to make a deal and you don't have a chiplead, this is how to calculate what you should be getting:

E.g.
1st 161635.50
2nd 88978.50
3rd 52650

Stacks
1st 5162500
2nd 5000000
3rd 3000000

Stars deal
20k for 1st
1st 101799.75
2nd 100252.66
3rd 81211.59

Go to http://sharnett.bol.ucla.edu/ICM/ICM.html

Type in
161635.50/88978.5/52650
5162500
5000000
3000000

You get
1st 108329.72
2nd 107029.11
3rd 87905.16

Now because 20k is left over, multiple 20k by your stack percentage and subtract.

You now get
1st 100485.47
2nd 99431.76
3rd 83346.76

Huge advantage example:

10000000/2000000/1162500

Stars deal

20k for 1st
1st 147855.32
2nd 71691.06
3rd 63717.62

Fair deal

20k for 1st
1st 127874.19
2nd 84160.36
3rd 71229.45

Note: while this seems pretty simple, I've never seen it written anywhere so I'm assuming nobody ever works out their true equity at the FT when making a deal, especially as it takes about 5 minutes. Probably a good thing, but at least NWP members will have a decent edge if they ever get to a big FT in the future.

I'm not sure I'd like Stars to calculate it properly. If I ever get there, I'd like it fucked up the Stars way so I can take a deal which really suits me or try and negotiate to a fair deal if it doesn't. I'd be happy to play on if I couldn't get a fair deal.

Just so he gets a better picture of what kind of demand is left for a limit book in the poker world, do we want a book that specialises in a grossly neglected important corner of the market, or do we want yet another general lightweight full ring book that just tells us to loosen up a bit with less players to add to the pile?
