BPD Celeb Update..

Got dragged by wife to some event tonight...had no clue what it was for. Ended up being a talk and cooking demo by Marcus Samuelsson, chef at Aquavit in NY. Apparently he was on Iron Chef and is well known...I had no clue. Art Smith also happened to be there. He was Oprahs chef and opened Table 52 in Chicago. He was on Top Chef Masters...the big fat gay dude. Chatted briefly with Art. My wife asked him if he had ever been to West Town Tavern...one of our favorites and also somewhat competition for his place. Basically like asking Jeter if he likes the Mets. Was pretty funny.

Then Samuelsson came and sat down at our table and chatted for about 15 minutes. Very nice guy. Ive never heard of him but apparently his NY restaurant is a big deal. We were talking politics and random shit and I think I won him over when we both agreed that tomatoes and lettuce have no place on a taco. Onion, cilantro, and salsa is all you need.

Throw that shit out right away. One of my dogs got into just a little bit in a bowl on a coffee table and we had to take him to the ER and he hasn't eaten in over 2 days...not a happy camper.

I think he will be alright...but that shit fucked him up pretty good. Pretty toxic stuff when ingested.

BPD's latest celeb sighting...Dems will appreciate

Met David Axelrod last night. We were at dinner at a great new Chicago restaurant called Mexique. It is Mex/French fusion....think french onion soup with poblanos...

Anyway, I walk in and notice Axelrod sitting at the front table. He is there with Forrest Claypool (Cook County Commissioner) and their wives. We decide to send dessert to the table (cleared by secret service...). They end up coming over and chatting with us for 2-3 minutes. Very nice guy.

I definitely wanted to meet him either way...but didn't want to interrupt their meal or be douchey by approaching their table...so I think sending dessert was a nice move...and we didn't have to approach and annoy them...
