"What'd you get for Christmas?" thread.

Out of the complete blue, my grandma dumped everyone in my close family (relatively small probably, about 13-14 of us, including my gay uncle's BF) checks for either 1k or 2k (married = you and spouse get 1k each, unmarried = 2k). So though I'm not ballin' out with Micon's Grandma's 5k checks, not bad. Completely unexpected, she usually gives $100 or so.

Got a Shun 8" Chef's Knife from my parents.



It's pretty ridiculous. I've been using a dull $10 knife for awhile. I'm actually kind of worried about chopping my fingers off. This is like moving from a '89 Accord to a Benz or something. I tried cutting a potato in half with it. Hardly even have to put any pressure on the blade.

Obv nabbed Dark Knight Blu-Ray in the family gift exchange. I'd wager that The Dark Knight is a gift at 60%+ of medium-large family Christmas' this year.

Movie Thread

Of all the Christmas Day movies, which are you looking forward to most? I'd have to say Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Though Frost/Nixon looks good. And I don't usually say that about Ron Howard movies. With any luck it may get him off my "Most Overrated Directors in Hollywood not named Wes Anderson or M. Night Shyamalan" list.

I don't want to jump the gun here...
