The A's made some huge offensive upgrades this off season with Matt Holliday, Jason Giambi & Orlando Cabrera. In addition, Eric Chavez will hopefully be back & healthy. Our rotation is young and unproven, but I am thinking that the AL West may just be weak enough for us to compete. Any over-confident Angels fans willing to place a friendly wager?
On another front, things do not look good for this franchise staying in the Bay Area. Our new ballpark deal in Fremont fell apart, and i would not put it past our owner and MLB to move the franchise out of the cesspool of Oakland.
