Board game discussion thread

i was in the games by james at the mall of america (terrible place to be this time of the year btw) and i noticed settlers of catan. being a nerd and board game faggot, i bought it. it's for 3-4 players but i've only had a chance to play it with one other person. this killed the trading aspect but we were able to use maritime trade to complete the game. filthy good time imo, anyone have any suggestions on similar games?

Little help with booking Vegas trip in January please

January 12th-16th (Tuesday-Saturday). I'm looking for a nice place to stay for 4 nights on the strip. I found some Rialto Room at the Venetian for $409 or something a night, and it sounds really nice. It's going to be me and 3 other dudes so I'd like a larger-than-normal room.

I don't mind paying $409 or whatever a night, but is there any way I can get anything comped or get a discount (via poker room or something). What's my best play? I could book for a night and haggle when we get there.

ALSO, other hotel options if any residents know of something better. I haven't stepped foot in the Venetian.

Any good lower buyin tournaments going on now?

I'm talking $100-200 range, or am I better off just playing satty's?
