holy wtf, close encounters with the criminal kind

Just lying around playing madden at 1230 am, pretty standard cool down period before sleep. I hear a bang on my sliding door out to the patio of my apartment. Dont think too much of it and keep playing, then i see some flashing lights outside and hear another bang. I go out to see if something is going on, and see some guy, looked late 20s, wifebeater shirt, skinhead, standing on my patio, out of view of the helicopter light which is shining around the courtyard. I ask him to please leave, and he says he just got away from the cops or something, and he doesn't want any trouble and will leave soon. When he doesn't leave after about 20 seconds I turn and walk back, past my apartment door, which I locked, out into the parking lot where I find a cop car making its way slowly through the parking lot. I go up to the car and tell him that whoever they're looking for is on my apartment patio, he gets out and slowly makes his way there, meets up with another cop and an attack dog, when they finally check my patio they find him gone. They tell me to go back into my apartment and follow me in to make sure my slide door is locked and that he isn't in my apartment, then they go back to looking for him I guess, obv I double locked my door. I still hear helicopter sounds and just saw a light go through the courtyard so they must still be looking for him. Ive heard sounds of cops talking near my apartment a few times, obv Im not going back outside to find out whats up.

Not sure if its standard for cops to calll in helicopter and attack dog support in vegas for someone other than a really serious criminal, kind of freaked out right now, will update if I find out anything else.

problem with viewed topics not showing as viewed

i think this has happened before, but when i post in a topic, and then it goes back to shooting off automatically, it tells me that there are new posts in the thread I just posted in, even though there aren't except what I just wrote. Pretty sure this is a glitch that shouldn't be happening, might want to have the lithuanians look into it.

edit: also happens with threads i dont post in sometimes
