PokerTracker

I need to know if this is worth purchasing. I only use PokerStars and hear it runs great with it, does it? What are both the positives and negatives to the program, if any?

only negative I can think of is that if you play a lot, it becomes a huge file. If you dont have a newer computer you might need to add additional memory to your computer. Another tip, is change you options for PS to only keep hand histories on your computer for like 3 days. If you leave it at 30 PT takes for ever to get going on importing hands.

does it auto import hands from stars?

go to options on PS and go to instant hand history options. Then go to PT and to auto import hands then click browse or whatever and find the folder. Make sure you also go to aliases and put in screen name for PS

you cant have both party and stars set up at the same time right?

If you want my opinion of PokerTracker, it's really not that great. I was excited as hell thinking I would be able to improve my game buy purchasing PokerTracker. I used it for maybe a month and I no longer use it.

Sure it has great features and does a great job of keeping track of your stats but do you really wanna know how many times your pocket Aces get cracked to rags?? It just depresses me to see Pocket AA Win Rate 50.9%.

I would use it again but only to track other players since it does a good job of that as well so I know who to sit at the table with and who to avoid if possible.

So if you're a stats guy (I thought I was) then PokerTracker is for you but if you're looking for a utility that will help "fix your leaks" as it advertises, well it doesn't do that. It just makes u think that since KQs loses the majority of the time that you should never play that hand.

Kinda buggy too. For example. Auto import feature sucks ass as it can cause you to time out in a high speed game since you have to wait for it to import before you can continue playing. It can't really import more than 500 hands at a time. I had a huge ass hand history (5000 hands) and it wouldn't import it but there is a file splitter so it kinda fixes that. And every time you import, it takes longer, and longer and longer... And you constantly have to compress the database or else it'll fuck up. Other than that, IT'S GREAT!!!

thats why you have to change options from 30 days to smaller number. My AA holds up between 80-81 %.

definitly more useful as a way to multitable and see your oppenents stats. I tried to look at my stats and started playing too tight.

Yeah, I'm was being sarcastic about my AA. But it definitely wasn't at 80-81%, it was either high 60's or low 70's. But that's with over 30,000 hands imported.

mines about 100,000 hands. Your due for some wins. First month I was 90% with aces then they took it to 80% in a month.

im 30% with kings over the last 4k hands.... they have won me a nice -15bb : (

never tried pokertracker...but i use pokeroffice. im sure its similar and it also has table overlays wich give u the exact percentages of ur hand to improve and the exact rank of your hand. it also tracks and classifies other players, shows theyre flop%/Turn%/pf raise %. also it has the tables stats as well so u know instantly when the table was tightened up. works really well when multitabling as u cant keep track of every opponents play.
