His name really appears to be Justin Smith. I saw "J Smith" both on his Wynn keycard (he was staying there the night he came over for the video) and on his bank card that was in the front of his wallet.

Is there a chance he based this all on a fake ID? Yes, but I would say not likely.

Why was he given the "baller" treatment at the Red Rock? Simple. He had a gambling problem. He probably dropped huge sums of money there and elsewhere around Vegas. Do that enough times, and you'll be treated like a king, regardless of your remaining net worth.

Where is Micon's 12k? I believe it's now in the coffers of various Las Vegas casinos. Like fminc, it seems this guy scammed in order to support an expensive lifestyle and a gambling habit. He probably has zero net worth.

Patricia Arton's part in this whole thing is a bit more complicated. Envy Rent-a-Car is a BS operation. It is either defunct or never got off the ground in the first place. It is clearly just a home-brewed website with a pre-fabricated payment processor. Patricia does seem to have several expensive cars, as Micon saw them when visiting her house. However, these may be leased and not owned.

In one of her phone calls with Micon, she claimed that Justin has been stringing her along all this time, while getting free access to her cars and home. He supposedly has been promising to invest big in her Envy Rent-A-Car business, and like the situation with his promises to Micon, has not come through. It is possible that Arton is simply yet another victim who acted as an "accomplice" simply not to piss the guy off. It's also possible that she's dirty herself. In fact, she was somewhat involved in a major financial scam in Arizona about 7 years ago, where the main player got 17 years (!!) in prison. It is unknown if Arton served any time, but she did have a safe deposit box in her name that contained all of the incriminating evidence against the guy who got busted.

Justin Smith seems to have some connection to Oregon, but he also has a Hawaii connection. One of his bank accounts is at the Hawaii Federal Credit Union, while he claims to have a mother named "Karen Chase" (supposedly part of the Chase bank family) who lives in Hawaii. There is indeed a Karen Chase, age 47, who lives on the big island of Hawaii. While Smith did not ever tell us which island his mother lives on, he did claim to have just returned from an expensive resort on the big island, so he seems to have an idea about that area. I would guess that Karen Chase is indeed his mother. She called him during his last visit to Micon's apartment, and supposedly scolded him for letting Micon take advantage of him (regarding the interest rate being paid). I would LOVE to know her part in this whole thing.

Don't bother advising Micon to trick Justin into thinking more money is coming to him. Micon has already been quite clear at this point that he knows he's been scammed, and in fact has already stated he's going to the police. There's no way Justin will be convinced that Micon suddenly wants to loan him money again.
