Ok Todd, think about it this way. Which would you rather:
Demonstrate that this doofus is an immature twit and a shitty poker player by taking the high road, ignoring his personal insults, and hitting him where it really hurts.
or,
Prove that you are not a whole lot more mature than him, and that his childish insults actually did just what he wanted, by pissing you off to the point where you were concentrating more on attacking his reputation than on your game.
You may not wish to be a role model, but there is nothing wrong with demonstrating class in the face of idiocy and proving that you are the better man. Essentially, you took the contest away from the felt and turned it into a name calling/dick measuring competition. And really Druff, do you think that you should be mocking someone because they have looked bad on camera? I can think of a bunch of pictures of you that are every bit as embarrassing as those you posted of this douche.

I'm very saddened that you don't like my pictures, Bob. At one point I considered posting on forums for years as a one-joke Asian caricature, only later to excite the world as I finally reveal my true self. I could even hand-pick a select few pictures to present the world as me, so as not to embarrass myself on an internet forum. Unfortunately, I didn't go that route. So be it.
Regardless, I actually did "hit him where it hurts" -- I followed him from game to game, and he kept running from me. He eventually chunked off all of his roll, came back 20 minutes later with 4k more, chunked that off, and rebought one more time before losing about half of that and again vanishing. Not surprisingly, his play worsened after I got his pictures and was teasing him about them. I guess he thought that he was always going to be able to insult me from behind the veil of internet anonymity. My post here clearly bothered him, as did the fact that I got everyone in the game laughing at him. By turning the tables on him, I both embarrassed him and got him to play worse.
So you're saying that if some little twit was saying really nasty things about your girlfriend, your response would be to simply turn off chat and hide from the situation? Okay. You handle things your way, I'll handle things my way.

it was just too easy for complete d-bags like this to make more money in a week than they should be making in a lifetime (see: EM2).

This "kid" in question is definitely immature, and he's far younger than I am. At the same time, he is legally an adult (18), and he's on an adult site (Pokerstars) playing at adult limits (100-200/200-400). As far as I'm concerned, his actions should suffer the same consequences as anyone else.
It's not like I was angry about taking bad beats against him, and posted embarrassing photos of him to get him back. This twerp repeatedly said nasty things about my girlfriend in a public setting, and did so simply to be obnoxious and offensive. I did or said nothing to bring on such comments, and Miri definitely never had any interaction with him.
You suggested that I turn off chat if I don't like it. Why should I do that? It doesn't erase what he's saying -- it only hides it from me. So you're saying that, when a little punk is disrespcting my girlfriend in public, I should just take steps to pretend it isn't happening? I live in the real world. I will never try to solve a problem by tricking myself into thinking it's not happening.
I don't know where these pictures originated, but clearly he was the one to upload them and make them public. I didn't steal them from anyone's computer.
The bottom line is, whether you're 18 or 35, you reap what you sow. If you're going to say nasty things about someone (or especially their girlfriend) on the internet, you need to realize that it's fair game for the same to be done to you.
Bob also claims to have lost "respect" for me because he feels I'm not acting like a poker celebrity or role model here. If I saw myself that way, I wouldn't even post on NWP. I'm on this forum to speak my mind and have fun. I'm here for the exact same reason as everyone else. If I wasn't, I wouldn't be part of this forum.

Because you are near the pinnacle of your field, you have become somewhat of a celebrity. This makes your actions subject to greater scrutiny than those of the average degenerate. Just as you don't like people trashing your image in the public eye, you should know better than to make yourself look bad by trashing someone else's image.
