Random chat on stars pegged "El Capitano" as Marcel Luske... given he tried to pimp some W$ website at the Sunday $200 NL on Star's, seems even less likely... Thought I'd put it up here for vetting.

Not 100% sure, but "youngluck" on stars is likely Tuan Le

This is not true, although, you are on the right track.

Re: Marcel Luske being El Capitano

Seems to check out. From an online interview with Luske himself:

David: Do you play online much and if so, where do you play and what name do you use?

Marcel: I don't play to much online and if l do then l play most likely 'exclusive fan' or 'el capitano' in my office…Noah Boeken who has just won the Copenhagen EPT event, helped me online a little as he was playing online a lot. He is living above my office in Amsterdam so we do exchange some poker information…like online info for life tournaments info.…

El Capitano may be Marcel Luske's account but Noah Boeken plays on his El Capitano acccount and he was the one who took down last Sunday's $215 NL tourney.

Source (but do not recommend because Cashman Brian has better rates and faster service): http://www.tradepoker.com/

There was a thread or two about this over at pocketfives.com, apparently Noah was playing on both 'El Capitano' and 'Exclusive' in the Sunday 500k. I think Noah came in to one of the threads over there saying that a friend of his was playing on one of the handles, but had to leave/quit, so he finished it up.

you get ***** i think you might be able to say gus but not his last name, i dont remember for sure, i know i was trying tell someone that he was playing like gus hansen aka lunatic but it starred it out, no clue why though, unless party and gus hansen hate each other.

You know, that person who pointed that out might have been me. Skwrls. I tried to say that to someone and say it being XXX'ed out. I tried several other names, and they were visible. But when I tried to point this out to Customer Serivce they wouldn't believe me. So I posted about it, and said it frequenally in the chat on PP, or Empire Poker which runs off the same server.

(O)
So where does Mimi Tran fit into all of this?

From his book, he met her in about 1992, she used to hang around the low-limit games. They became friendly and Barry offered to teach her how to play if she would teach him vietnamese. She progressed from 3-6 all the way up to 80-160, which is what Barry was playing, and was the highest limit at the time.

He goes on to say that many people had/have the misconception that he was her sugar daddy but by the time she was winning in the biggest games, the opposite was true. Mimi didn't spend money like Barry, and he would often borrow from her. He says they both went through a really big rush in the game and had won about 100k. Mimi asked him how much he had left, and he said about 5k, Mimi on the other hand had 95k left. He later had to borrow from Mimi in order to stay in Larry Flynt's 1.5k/3k stud game, as he lost what he had initially won in the game in a few sessions (he was pretty new to stud and says it took him 3 years in that game until he considered himself to be a good player).

This is what being a WCRT (world class rail tard) is all about.

"J9 of Clubs" is T. J. Cloutier. He's been playing a few of the WCOOP events on PokerStars.

You got any back up on that? I have seen the same guy 4 table the 10/20 NL as well. He has done well in a few of the WCOOP events.

Well, J9 of Clubs is TJ's favorite hand and TJ Cloutier is from Richardson just like J9 of Clubs. So I'm pretty sure it is safe to assume J9 of Clubs is TJ Cloutier.
