I would try that big pink building on Flamingo and Rainbowish? They claim to be able to get you out of tickets. Also, there are infinite billboards around town that claim the same thing. I am sure they all do the same thing. GL

If you live out of state then fuck it off.

If you live in Vegas then its always best to show up to court even if its a minor speeding offense - if the cop doesn't show up, you roll the system and get away with the whole thing.

Best thing to do is to get a lawyer, that way they can appear for you and you wont even have to go in. When I got caught doing +25 over the limit, I had a mandatory date - got a lawyer, she went to court for me and they agreed to remove it from my record if I went on a "defensive driving course", which is basically a fucking money racket where you hear a retired cop go on about how to drive safely for half a day.

Traffic school, what a racket, .... even worse, I took mine online, in about an hour or a bit more maybe... $25 or so, ticket never on record.

Oh yeah, if Nevada is a state that allows you to do this online, then go that direction.

NC doesn't allow it online, so I had to do it in person - $75 for mine, fuck THAT.

Always show up in court (or have a lawyer do it for you. You will win if the cop doesn't show. ALWAYS +EV to do, with zero downside.

The services that claim to get you out of tickets are basically full of shit. They are only useful if you can't/don't want to go yourself, or if it's a more complicated matter like a DUI.

If you want to go the traffic school route, I would suggest first scheduling a court date and fighting it. If the cop shows, tell the judge right away that you want trafffic school and they'll almost always let you. Use that as a backup.

Your ticket will then end up being "faulty equipment" if you do the course - the officer who is taking it (presuming you do it in person) will amend it.

obv always show up for court date, but the cop will most always be there. in most cities cops get paid overtime to go to court. and veags being a big city, i am sure they get pait ot for court dates.

Nope, only if said state reports it to your resident state DMV. They have better things to do than to spend money chasing up a MINOR speeding ticket. Obv if you are blazing down the road Cannonball Run Style then yes, they will probably report it to the DMV in your state.

Georgia, Florida and Virginia can suck my cock if they think they are getting anything from me, and its been over 4 years. One of them was for 6 mph over the limit and the biggest one was 9 - they can fuck off and I've had my license and insurance renewed with no probs since then.

Not worried. If I need to drive through there again then I will write to the court in said state and pay it, known people who have done this.

In the '70s and '80s, it was pretty safe to just ignore a ticket from another state, because most DMVs didn't cooperate with each other.

Sadly, those days are over. Most states DO cooperate, and will hold up your license based upon an unpaid out-of-state ticket (which also will become far more expensive to pay).

For that reason, it is now WORSE to get an out-of-state ticket than an in-state one, because it is very hard to fight out-of-state tickets (due to the distance), so you basically have to bend over and pay whatever they are asking, even if you aren't guilty.

I would suggest, by the way, that everyone here purchase a radar detector. They are legal in most states, and it has saved my ass countless times. It does not guarantee you will catch the radar every time before the cop catches you, but it's pretty good. I save myself several tickets per year with that thing, and yet I speed very often both on surface streets and the freeway. (I never go reckless speeds, but I drive fast enough to where I would get pulled over.) Anyway, it's a great investment. I've had one in all cars since 1988.

A buddy of mine got a ticket for going 40 in a 35! The ticket was $350!!!!!! So sick. You will def want to go and fight that. Oof.

States like Virginia are using speeding tickets and more commonly stop light camera tickets to pay their city budgets while tax revenue is falling. I think 25 mph over any speed limit in Virginia is something like $1000.

The real speed limit on most metro area highways is 80 mph. I keep it under 80 and only get speeding tickets when I'm traveling for work. I was leaving the Toronto airport and got a $125 speeding ticket. Paying out of state tickets is easy now, as most places have web sites that accept credit cards.
