AVATARS & PICS: **Official How to Post & Resize Images**, for internet idiots

***AVATARS MUST BE < 200 PIXELS IN WIDTH.***

One of the most common PM's I get, aside from the obvious begging for naked pictures, or please ban so and so - he hurt my little feelings, is "Vwls, how do I post a picture?" It amazes me that so many people have no clue how to do this. WTF? But hey - I'm not here to judge. I'm just going to post this instructional thread so you all can appear normal to your friends and so I can stop typing it out all the time.

OK so step one.

Where are the pictures now? If they are on your personal computer, you will need to upload them to an online location/repository such as Photobucket or Imageshack (these are free places to keep, and hotlink your images). We also offer you free storage here - your own personal NWP gallery. I recommend using your NWP gallery if the pictures are x-rated in any way, since Photobucket and Imageshack are nazis and run through and delete pics in your gallery if they feel they are pornographic.

To get to your NWP personal gallery, click the Gallery link in the toolbar right here (it's under POKER ROOMS).



Then click Your Album (top right of page).



Now click Edit (lower left).



And Add Items.



You may want to bookmark this add items page so you won't have to go through that trail any more.

On this page, the From Web Browser tab lets you navigate to the location on your computer where the pics are located. The From Web Page tab lets you add pics that are located elsewhere on the web, which is a good idea to do because a lot of times, other sites don't allow hotlinking.

Once your pics are on the Internet, it is easy to post them here. Just open a new post, and insert the URL, or web address, of the picture inside two image tags.

To get the URL of a picture, you just click through to where you are looking at the picture, and right click it. On the pop up menu, choose Copy Image Location. That automatically copies the URL of that image to your computer's clipboard, and the next place you go, you can right click and choose Paste.

You don't have to type the image tags on NWP - we have a single-click icon that does it for you. It's to the right of the smiley face drop down menu and the Insert Link icon in every posting box - it looks like this: .


Please note that for avatars, although the Lithuanian software seems to allow any size, you don't want anything wider than 200 pixels, because bigger pics fuck up a thread's formatting. We will remove your avatar if you put one up that's too big. So please use your image repository software to resize your pictures.

In your NWP gallery, click through to the photo, click edit, then click the Modify Photo tab, and enter 200 in the width box. Photobucket and Imageshack have similar options.

To resize your image to avatar size using Photobucket:

Upload your pic to Photobucket:




Now click the "edit" link over the pic you have uploaded.



Click on the Resize Button:




Then enter 200 in the width box, save the edit, and upload it as your avatar.

Reminder guys and gays: avatars must be 200 or less pixels in width.

If you find a cool image (like Ship did this week for example) and you can't figure out how to resize it, just PM me for help. Don't be fucking lazy though - first post of this thread explains how to do a resize on any pic, and that includes gifs/animations. It will only take you a couple of minutes.

If you stick up a huge pic as your avatar, it will be auto removed. If you insist on doing it 30 times just being ignorant, stubborn and stupid, your avatar privileges will mysteriously go DD.
