Anybody ever passed a, kidney stone?

o ya, pushing to piss, blood in urine,terrible weird lower back pain......sucked big time.

I've passed a gallstone before and thought I was dying. I hear that kidney stones are alot worse.

Sadly ..... no. My friend spent a majority of the first week of her trip (when they were suppose to be surfing) in a hotel room sick. She and her boyfriend got sick after eating some food from a street vendor. Not the brightest move in a foreign country. So the only advice I have for you is to stay away from street vendor food. The only trip report I have gotten from her is about glad she was to finally be back home. Sorry I don't have anything good to report.

yeah the doctors had me drinking cran berry juice all day long to try to passs the thing hurt like a fucking bitch but i got percocet for that pain so i was alright

Yes, and it was extremely gay.

I have had them three times and all three times I had to get laser surgery to break up the stones. The were too big to pass. I can't adequately describe in words how bad the pain was. Just imagine how it feels when you have to go pee really, really, really bad but can't go because the track is blocked. Two of the times I had to get a stint (long tube) put in to relieve the pressure. Well that hurt almost as bad, if not worse, then the stones. Imagine how it feels to have them stick a long tube up through your pee hole and then later removing it through the same hole. FML.

Passing a kidney stone is up there with severe gout attack as the most painful thing a person can endure.

Childbirth ain't even close.

Had a stone removed through surgery before, i.e going in my dick hole. After wards, I couldn't leave the hospital until I peed. That's not easy when your dick hole is crusted over with dried blood; when the liquid finally came out, it was not urine, but straight up blood. Most painful shit ever.

Prevention
The best way to experience a kidney stone is to never experience one. The key is fluids, especially in hot weather. "You should be excreting 2 liters of urine a day," Yee recommends. "That is equal to eight soda cans worth of urine. Of course, you will be taking in much more."

Water is the best fluid to drink, Brown says. "Not mineral water, either. Think of it -- more minerals."
Becker advocates drinking lemonade.
All agreed grapefruit juice probably was not the liquid of choice. Avoid that.
There is no need to restrict dietary calcium, for example in milk, Becker says.
Stay well hydrated.
Drink fluids consistently all day, not just in big binges, Yee says.
He also recommends restricting sodium (there goes the meat and the barbecue sauce!).

cool I own that prevention routine, was just beginning to think pissing stones was one of lifes little inevitabilities like..... going bald!

November 2007.

I was taking a shower when I started feeling pain in my lower back on my left side. I just kind of stood in the shower until the pain subsided. The pain kept getting worse and worse, and my breathing got shallower and shallower. I knew I was about to pass out, so I got out of the shower and laid on my bathroom floor with my feet elevated against the wall until I felt I could at least get up. I then arranged a trip to the ER.

Got to the ER and was barely able to answer their questions I was in so much pain. They placed me in a room where I proceeded to vomit from being in so much pain.

They took some scans and found a 2mm stone towards the very end of my ureter and almost into my bladder. This was small enough to pass, so they gave me a large funnel with a screen in it to pee into until the stone was passed. They also gave me plenty of Vicodin (thank god).

One week later I passed the stone. Good times.

My daily water intake has increased dramatically since then. I never want to go through that again.
