This is worth looking at. Pictures of contested ballots in Minnesota for the Senate race. I love how each side is trying to spin certain ballots. This is my favorite:

The Franken staffer contested this ballot saying the voter intended to underline Franken's name, thus indicating a vote for Franken. LOL.

Interesting website. I can't help but clown on you a bit.... That one is actually quite ambiguous. What does crossing out a name mean? You are selecting it? Is it even being crossed out? Why not go back over it one time with a firm line through the middle if that was the case? It almost appears they tried to correct their intent because they do start underlining at the end of the line. Who can tell? You guys are so mental it is ridiculous.

8 & 9 are considerably more absurd.

Wha?

I don't think Al Franken is particularly qualified for national office, but he did graduate from Harvard with honors. I would not be upset if Coleman wins, as he's pretty moderate. He used to work for Paul Wellstone back when he was a Democrat.

On a related note, by far my favorite Republican, Chuck Hagel, owned Rush Limbaugh yesterday-

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/...ate-colleagues/

"We are educated by the great entertainers like Rush Limbaugh," Hagel said Tuesday

"You know, I wish Rush Limbaugh and others like that would run for office," a sarcastic Hagel continued. "They have so much to contribute and so much leadership and they have an answer for everything. And they would be elected overwhelmingly. [The truth is] they try to rip everyone down and make fools of everybody but they don't have any answers."

You have to give credit to Franken for at least putting his money where his mouth is.

I also just think it would be funny if Coleman managed to lose elections against both Jesse "The Body" Ventura and Stuart Smalley.

This one made me laugh:

This Beltrami County voter cast their ballot for Al Franken, but also put "Lizard People" as a write-in candidate, not only in the U.S. Senate race, but for several others. The county auditor/treasurer ruled that the vote should not be counted because it's considered an overvote. Representatives for Franken challenged that decision. (MPR Photo/Tom Robertson)

Oh, and Al Franken is a psycho.

If I can find the article I will post it, but I heard on a radio show yesterday morning something about Franken arguing that even though his circle was left blank on some ballots, he should get a vote. He contends that the rest of the ballot was marked primarily democrat, and he is sure that the person intended to vote for him because of the way they voted on the rest of the ballot. Supposedly they are not talking about just a couple of ballots either.

Wow this guy is insane.

Air America is a joke because it is boring, hardly gets any listeners, and engaged in a lot of really shady business practices in its frst years of operation.

Rush Limbaugh's show has been a huge success.

A usual, your opinions are not founded in facts or reality (much like the gem of a copy and paste of an article you posted last week that theorized that higher taxes are good for an economy. lol)

This link is old, but I don’t think Limbaugh listeners went from the best educated and most successful to “very, very uneducated” in the past decade

I would say that Air America has uneducated listeners, but I can't really provide factual evidence on this due to the fact that they don't have any listeners
BTW, I don't believe the Rush Limbaugh show ever had to file for bankruptcy protection, unlike you know who.

Love him or hate him, you certainly cannot deny that Rush is the king of the radio talk show and he is obv doing something right.

I agree. But I cant help at laugh at the success from the same audience as Christian TV Evangelists. They get 10 times the audience of Air America. Its not that their werent enough liberals because there obviously is, its just that they must have jobs were radio isnt an option? I dunno why liberals dont listen to the radio but I know Truckdrivers listen to Rush and worship the Lord by sending in their money for Jesus. I cant help but be amused.

And Im not a liberal. See other arguments. I just attack extremism.

Despite 15 hours of material each week, Rush’s enemies still have trouble finding anything he’s said to damage him on the public stage. And then, they only do so at their peril. When Harry Reid and 41 Democrat senators sent a letter of complaint to Clear Channel last October lambasting Limbaugh’s use of the term “phony soldiers,” Rush auctioned the letter on eBay for $2.1 million, personally matched that amount, and then sent the proceeds to the Marine Corps Law Enforcement Foundation.

Later, on the floor of the senate, Reid surrendered and offered that he would have gotten even more signatures if he had known the good cause the letter would be used for.

See Sen. Chuck Hagel's recent comments about him. But that was a funny story. Dont think it makes him a hero. If George Soros had auctioned something like that Limbaugh, Hannity and Oreilly would accuse the money as coming from Muslims. But look Al Franken is a clown and so is Limbaugh, clowns make money in this society. If you cannot see that both Franken and Limbaugh are clowns then please dont vote.

Rush Limbaugh is a very bright guy and seized upon a huge opportunity in the late '80s / early '90s.

After struggling to find himself career-wise through the early parts of his life, he noticed that there was a dire need for a strong conservative voice in the liberal-dominated media. In 1987, when the so-called Fairness Doctrine was repealed, Rush was one of the first to seize upon the opportunity to broadcast his partisan viewpoint to an audience that was hungry to hear someone who thought like them. Basically, conservatives had been vilified by Hollywood and the media for a long time, and people from the right-wing side of the political fence felt attacked every time they turned on their radio or television. Finally they had a reliable voice they could turn on and hear the type of viewpoints they agreed with.

Whether you like Rush or not, he was extremely clever to be among the first to jump at this opportunity, and he made his show sufficiently entertaining to where it attracted people typically not interested in the intricacies of politics. Bill Clinton's election in 1992 (along with general Democratic gains everywhere) only helped Rush gain even more popularity as the symbolic leader of the opposition, and he deserves a lot of credit for the sweeping Republican victories in 1994.

Compare the above to the joke that is Air America. It has not been influential in any way, shape, or form, and has been a commecial failure -- even with Republicans and George Bush suffering from an extreme lack of popularity. The shows are boring, the ratings have been terrible, and the whole thing has been a complete bomb. Aside from general mismanagement and a general lack of talent, Air America has failed because liberals are already everywhere in Hollywood and the media. You don't need to turn on a liberal radio network to find people bashing Republicans. The mainstream media itself was liberal enough to where a specifically liberal radio network was not necessary.

Rush Limbaugh has to be respected for both the product he has delivered and the amazing effect he had on mid-1990s politics.
