For what you ask? Well I went to the casino here friday, saturday and sunday nights. Actually around 1:00 a.m, but that's besides the point. I hadn't been there since spring break and I recognized many of the same faces as spring break. Because of the way you talk about donks and how people play and shit I was able to pick up so much info on players and how to play my cards and against what op...

Just me, but from railtarding the 100 game, I'd have to say this guy is one of the best if not the best. I see him win a lot in full ring, and take on anyone heads up and usually come out ahead. Dan, since I never see you playing him, care to give me insight into who he is or how he ranks?

Real situation from last night's 80-160 game at Bellagio:
Seat 7 is a semi-maniac who loves to straddle and raise preflop with complete trash. He will also give wild action on the flop with nothing, but will cool down afterwards if he has no pair and no draw.
Seat 8 is a tight (but not super-tight) player, was initially somewhat weak when he sat down, but has turned up t...

Hey guys. If I am using Firepay and want to cash out money from Pokerstars or any other site and then send it to my bank, do I have to report this $ and will I be taxed on it? Is there a certain amount that if I reach, I then have to start reporting and/or paying taxes on? Is there any way I can get away without paying taxes risk free on money I have earned?
Thanks guys....

Dan or any other talented players,
I play 1/2, 2/4, and some 3/6 shorthanded tables on stars. I seem to get into trouble with AK, AQ, and other big hands when I miss the flop. Here is an example scenario that seems to happen a lot. I raise and lb and bb both call. Flop is 2 4 10 rainbow, lb bets and bb raises. both are usually donks and may have hit a pair. My problem is, I make the...

Anyone know why I'm seeing so many commercials advertising these free sites? I'm going to assume, it has something to with the laws in the US about gambling? To be honest I am clueless, but that was my guess. Anyone know why these sites are spending so much to advertise play money sites?

I met Linden at a Bellagio game last night. I had some help -- he gave me a few hints as to what he looked like beforehand.
It was nice meeting him, though I could have done without his begging for money at the end, accompanied by another "I'm broke" sob story.

You had said somewhere that you were a card counter. Any of the casinos around here use 8 decks / shoe and then stop when there is about 2 decks left. Can counting still be beneficial or is it only useful when you're using a 1 or 2 deck shoe?

I play mostly pot limit and no limit on several different sites. My question is how much of a roll you need before moving up in buy in amounts? Right now I play 2-4 and buy in for $400. When is a sufficient roll to move up to 5-10 blinds and buy in for $1,000? Thanks for any advice.

About a month back I played in a 1K buy in event where there were 222 players in total, the tourney was split with 111 players playing 2 different days until they were down to 5 each day until the third day made a final table of 10 players. At the final table I was second in chips to start the day...to make a...

How do you beat somebody heads up when you never pair up and they never fold. I've encountered this a couple times and just did. What do you do? I'm talking about the type of guy that limps in everytime with any two cards like 2 5 off. I mean you can't out play them because they don't fold no matter what you do. So what do you do when you can't make anything and they just keep making low pairs on...

Here's my deal- I've had a pretty good run at poker thus far in my life. I played for the first time last June (5/10 in a casino) and began playing online in October. I went to Party's 10/20 6-max almost immediately and luckily things worked out. Today I am 4-tabling 10/20 6-max for 2.5BB/100 (Pokertracker says 2.38BB/hour). Even if I have been running hot for the last 100K hands it is likely that...

Dan, I remember you saying that flerin was one of the big 30/60 winners a couple years ago on Stars. Tonight I saw him sit with $400 in 30/60 and then not reload when he had $38 left on the table. It just seemed weird that a good player would play in that Hellmuth-type style.

How many hours do you average at the casino playing live poker a week? Online?
After playing poker for a decent amount of time, do you wish you could be doing something else? Wouldn't trade it for the world? Prefer online or live?
Thanks!

Anyone know what causes this in certain players? I know it happens to me everytime I cashout. It seems for the next few weeks I just can't have a winning session. Tonight I lost 9/12 hands on the river where someone with middle pair caught his kicker. Clearly, I don't believe there really is a curse, but I'm curious as to what others think causes this. Is it a change in play style? I don't kno...

abacus LOX has been seen around 30-60 over the past few weeks, playing in a loose, chasing, semi-donkified fashion. His play was never downright bad, but he was usually one of the factors in making a particular 30 table "good".
I guess he finally ran up a few thousand, and he took his shot at 100-200. At first, it was an up-and-down affair. Eventually, he chunked nearly all of his...

Wow was anyone else watching this last night. 300-600 HOTHOB game, John absolutely killed this game. He bought in for 14k and left with about 5 racks. The Pokerstars software shuts down for routine maintenance approximately once per week. It typically happens at 7am EST on Wednesday morning, though I've seen it occur on other days, as well.
