Wasteland

Fallout 3 came out today... is anyone else as excited as I am to play? I'm a huge fan of the first two (although haven't played them in close to a decade lol). Either way, F3 is sitting next to me and I haven't played it yet so... gotta go obv.

I remember Fallout and Fallout 2 on the PC...great story, RPG gameplay was okay, never finished playing because I got bored after a few hours.

Trailer gave me chills. Post apocolypse fighting never interested me, I tried with bf 2142 and I just can't get into the genre.

A friend of mine thought it was going to be another zombie-killing FPS. He came over to see it and was completely surprised.

I don't know about Game of the Year considering how many sick titles still aren't out yet, BUT it is a very worthy contender. I'm about to level up and get the 'bloody mess' perk, which increases damage dealt in any way and always makes enemies die in the most violent way possible. Bwahahaha!

I'm 23 hours in and level 13... still haven't done much (if any to be honest) of the main quest. I've seen maybe 50% of the map, and what I have seen I haven't thoroughly explored. I might be putting it down for awhile though, as it is just too fucking epic.

I lol'd through to Megaton only to figure out all the skill sets i'd need were SFwrong. Thief skillz are like the only thing you need besides a silver tounge in the beginning. Went to Megaton and murdered everyone in the bar when I found out about the comp in the back with the info. Didn't save game, so now I have the info, but it's just not stored. Doesn't matter. Re-roll 1x.

there are multiple ways to do pretty much everything in the game. i got the info and shit from the comp without hacking/murder. my skills are built up strong in the guns/medicine/repair categories. its a bitch to pay people to fix your shit, so i'd get your repair game up.

I'm gonna kill every last one of those digital hillbillys in Megaton. Book it.

No, but I've been aware of it's existence for a long long time. I have however played and beaten Fallout 1 and 2.

If you have a PS3 or 360 (or a decent computer), you should check this out. At least read up a bit on it or watch some videos. I'm 26 hours in, and about to start the main quest. This is a great time killer when I'm looking for a job... which is good and bad lol.

Haven't been playing much, I keep restarting. Gotta learn to save more often. Too used to having to get to a safe house to save.

Went grocery shopping at the local mart. Customers there were pretty pushy, but I made a hella score in the pharmacy. Those bottlecap mines come in handy, but being encumbered is not fun.

Hella boost strength, or wait until you get the strong back perk or whatever. Super duper mart drug pilfering ftw.

still lookin for the West kid. Raided some graveyard church with ridic. mutants and freed some chick. Pissed she didn't offer to blow me. Difficult to find enough ammo in this game. Went to a subway and killed scorpions with a flamethrower I picked up, i felt like the Orkin man. didn't find shit in there though. I keep thinking that i'm missing stuff. dunno.

I boss out everywhere and look through everything for anything of value.

I have ridiculous amounts of ammo and sell a lot of it as well. Just keep rolling along, you may just be going to areas that aren't well-stocked.

Found the Kid, then another kid pops up with another Orkin man mission for fire ants, WTF. Finally got into DC, holy crap. Just a recon mission, no saving. got to the radio station in town and killed some russian slag with a couple of whores in the house. He had drugs and booze everywhere so I did an experiment and took all the jet and vodka that I had. The game told me I had become addicted to jet and I had to get my shit fixed. reset.
