So, ZSNES allows for online play. It's been about 3 years since I tried to do this, so we'll need a beta testing trial period.

Anyone who can get ZSNES and a mario kart rom should post here. www.zsnes.com for the emulator, and actually you can get roms off of torrentz.com...so it's not like 1998 when IRC ruled all.

I am willing to make up to 50 dollar bets on mario kart battle mode. I'm not very good at it, honestly, but I fucking love to play it, and I rarely play video games anymore because money isn't generally involved.

Once someone gets set up with at least one two player rom and Zsnes, we should test out the multiplayer ZSNES action. This will require sharing of IP addresses most likely. Mine is dynamic, so it's not a big deal, but we will need a trust-based thing where people who are unknown or clear douchebags can't participate. This will also be appropriate for money games.

Anyone who likes classic games like me should be well up for this. Hopefully we can get something going. So GOGOGOGOGO. Post here when you get the emulator/rom and we'll start testing the multiplayer feature.

Snes9x is another SNES emulator that supports multiplayer....so we'll try that too if ZSNES is unsatisfactory.

I would definitely like to try this...is there no way to get around the IP thing though?

I think you HAVE to use IP's to connect. Kinda sucks, but there's no one running a server where you can create a game, as with most multiplayer games. Just a direct connection. I thought there might be more interest, so if you want to play for fun rather than bet, I'd be down. Not opposed to cash games either, if you want. I definitely won't give any IP out or anything. I have no idea what your reputation is, so I'll probably have to do a search before releasing info, but you can rest assured you're safe giving me your IP.....
