Bought it off a friend, he had no issues for a year (and I trust him, and know from experience that this thing was working when he sold it, considering I am over his house quite often, smoking weed and taking money from him via Madden. He also often relies on me for CPU repair advice).
Only had this thing for 1 year.

Messed up part is that I don't think the warranty won't cover a free repair. So I think I'm going to either have to pay $99.99 for them to fix it, or find someone in the Boston area who does (hopefully for less). It's almost as if they are putting the boot to my ass and saying, "Hey, go buy a PS3! Oh wait, it's like 600 dollars, you'll never do that!"
I tried to cancel my auto-renew for my XBox 360 account online via the Web, and it is such a run-a-round. It's OK, though, I am going to have real fun when calling up the random Indian customer service rep later, and gleefully tell them the reason I am cancelling is b/c their shitty product, obv made in China, epically fails at a 35-40% rate according to polls
and some hilarious youtube posts.
I think some in the State of CA have collectively sued Microsoft too. Kind of a sad day when the pitfalls of capitalism and saving an extra buck affects my video game consumerism, but yet hilarious in a fucked up way. I'm WAS member of GameFly (a Netflix-type service), it is overall a decent service for the price (2 games for 23/mo). I'm sure they'll be thrilled when they read in my cancel comments that my XBOX 360 going donkdown is the reason they are losing business.
