Actually, I'm smart enough to make a big deal only after I've received my food. And I only do so for things that are really egregious, not for minor mistakes.
I also order my burgers plain anyway, so it would be tough to sneak a loogey on there.
If you are going to be so scared of people fucking with your food that you let minimum wage 3am fast food workers push you around, you need to stay home and make your own food.
Actually, a complaining customer is a good customer. The one's that have a bad experience and say nothing usually never comeback. If you make a complainer happy by resolving their problem, usually you have created a more loyal customer. In truth, in all my years in the restaurant business, I have never known anyone to fuck with anybody's food. Other then when I was in high school and worked in an italian restaurant and there was a dish called Cajun Shrimp on the menu......(yeah I know not really italian but) It was simply shrimp cooked in a marinara sauce and we were supposed to put 2 drops of tabasco in it to spice it up - we emptied half a bottle in some guys order and saw his eyes tear after one bite and called for the waiter complaining it was too spicy. Theowner asked us how much tobasco we put in and we said 2 drops - he then told us to only use one drop in the future.
