Neverwinpoker.com _ "Ask vegas1369" _ Cheap places to stay in Vegas

Posted by: PotatoSalad May 12 2009, 05:50 AM

Going to Vegas in the summer and don't want to spend a fortune on accommodation. Would like to be close to the strip if possible.

Any chance you could give us a brief idea of how much the massive hotel/casinos cost to stay in? What alternatives are there?

i would recomend the excalubir its right across from the mgm grand very cheap like 40 some a night. I acutally stayted their in feburary for the first time rooms are nothing fancy but very cheap like 40 a night. i would recomend renting a car if you stay their a cab ride to ceasers was 10 bucks each way if you probaly could rent a car for what you spend in cabs unless you dont mind walking.

also look into imperial palace very cheap

i would go to orbitz and just type in the dates you want and they will have every hotel on the strip and the prices for that week

Cool, thanks for the advice. I always assumed the big hotels on the strip would be really expensive so it's nice to know that they're actually affordable.

Gold Coast is cheap and has a free shuttle to the strip, is right across from the Rio and the Palms. I stay there whenever I go to the WSOP.

However it is dumpy, but who stays in the room anyhow.

The Sahara. It's a dump, but it is always cheap and not a bad location. Imperial Palace is also a good choice and an even better location. Check into Excaliburs room rates too, they are sometimes very cheap.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I'll check them all out and see which one turns out to be cheapest.

Also, while I'm here, which casinos are best for regular low buyin tourneys (like $150 or less)? And also where are the softest low stakes cash tables (NLHE and PLOM mainly. Also maybe some O8)?

I always stayed at Luxor or Bally's. I would consider them second tier properties- nicer than the third tier places mentioned.

i would recomend ceasers palace or the ventian deep stack seris
