I bought into a 2/4 NL home game with $120. I keep bouncing from $120 to $250 because of some lucky fish suck outs. So after 4 hours or so i'm waiting to double up and leave. I have $200 in front of me and look down to see AA sitting UTG+2. I look up and observe the table before I decide how I want to play my bullets. I see the gut UTG+4 look at his cards and then he starts counting out chips for a raise and he has $150 in front of him so I just lead out by raising to $18. The guy beside me (UTG+3) smooth calls. The guy UTG+4 did exactly what I expected him to do. He reraised to $40 so i'm sitting here thinking bingo that's what I wanted. It gets folded around and is now back on me. I reraise all in. The guy who smooth called my raise (UTG+3) sits there for a while and then folds. Then the guy who reraised me called my all in and shows KhKd and I flip over my AhAd. The guy UTG+3 says i'm glad I folded I had KcQc (like I said playing with some fish that were sucking out on me this guy was actually thinking about calling with KQ after a raise, reraise, then all in) so i'm thinking this is great MR. KK has ONE out. The flop comes out 3c 5c 9s now I feel extremely safe with my hand I was a little uneasy at first because I lose with AA all the time. Then the turn comes and it is the CASE KING BOMB and river comes blank.....I LOSE!!!!! After the hand I ask around and nobody folded an ACE.
I say the dreaded AA vs. KK because 8 out the last 9 times i've had AA i've been all in preflop and lost to a lower PP. What are the odds of that happening? So here I am busted again.
After the hand I'm left with a mere $50 the last bit of money I have to my name. So I stay at the table looking to make it back which i've had to do plenty of times. One time when playing 1/3 NL live I was down to $6 and ended up leaving with $500 lol. WOULD YOU GUYS AGREE WITH WHAT I DID IN THIS HAND? I have 9h7h in small blind everybody limps so I pay the extra $2 and see a flop. The flop comes out Kh6h7c. I check everybody else checks then a guy 5 from the button bets $15 guy next to him calls, fold, call, call, and then it ends up on me. I push all in looking to make my flush, two pair or trips knowing that the other 4 people in the pot are going to call. AGREE YES OR NO? So the rest of the hand plays out with a 4c on turn and 7s on river so i'm thinking OK this good considering I didn't put anybody else all in I didn't know what they had. Well it turns out one guy had KK and the other had 66 in the hole so I lost anyways lol.
The way I looked at it was that I had a flush draw with mid pair and was getting 5:1 on my money and the total pot I could have won was around $250-$300 and all I had was $50 so I didn't have enough to do anything really in the game. That pot could have put me back on track and well on my way to making more money.
