Bad call by him Wiganer but he had you covered and is a gambler...You seem to play with good cards and in this case with $420 no other choice...Haven't you noticed it that with the best of you still seem to lose?....That's the way online poker operates with no regulation...Basically those that do win have been annointed for their value in publicity...Even there as they play the higher limits due to their new found riches they are stolen from eventually...Only a few are allowed to stay at the top like Ivey and Drurr and some others...Your chance to win can really only come live...And a problem if you are some distance from a casino...

from what little i know of no limit, your raise preflop was not good with AA; one's raise needs to consider the stack sizes of you and your opponent, rather than being just driven by the standard 3 times the big blind

i understand that preflop raise should be either less than 3% or more than 7% of the smaller stack size (that is yours or your likely opponent)...raises in between those amounts lead to uncomfortable situations post flop with large amounts of your stack committed often with only a single pair. I believe here you raised to around 5-6% of your opponent's stack...if you wanted a steal or figured the blind defends a lot, raise more; but if you want to try sucking in the blind, a smaller raise is good plus you can cheaply get away from the hand later if you get played back at strong/the flow looks bad for you...this is per the book: Professional No Limit Poker

anyway, that is what i know about no limit from some reading and a little bit of play; i welcome comments from anyone with other ideas

i think this is a good call, one that can be justified in a tourney with a small buy-in & quickly escalating blinds...you got your money in with the villain having one of his cards dead when you were both smaller stack, the villain was overbetting in a classic steal/squeeze play...that you lost is just poker

There defintely seems to be some non-randomness whereby if you have become relatively shortstacked early on you'll probably get crushed in any all-in situation thereafter, even if you're the big favourite as in the above hand. If I wasn't such an obstinate donk it would almost make me adjust my game. Or quit FTP....

Flipside: next SNG, took an early lead and then won 75% of all conforntations, and won the SNG. So non-random.
