I've been busy all day and havn't been watching anything on TV. I somewhat ignore the news media when it comes to natural disasters because they overhype shit to sell newspapers and get ratings. Everthing is the worst something ever to happen to something. It really hit me when I read the quoted NWS release. The people who wrote that don't make any money by being sensational. They are very dorky scientists with massive computers who do thier best to predict the near future. I don't know why their press releases are always in all caps like a cmoney post.

The short, absolute sentances are crazy, particularly
"ALL GABLED ROOFS WILL FAIL." and "WATER SHORTAGES WILL MAKE HUMAN SUFFERING INCREDIBLE BY MODERN STANDARDS."

David, if you can still read this, let us know what's going on where you are.

I still don't believe it is going to be anything like is being predicted.

A bad storm? Yes.

A lot of damage? Yes.

Some deaths among those too stupid to leave? Yes.

But not the widespread devastation of a large city.

I think it will be something on par with Hurricane Andrew of 1992, maybe even less.
