From what I have gathered watching weather channel.
175 mph winds and strengthening
New Orleans is at/below sea level
Katrina will bring 28 ft storm surge....hmmmm.....GG New Orleans

Are they saying 28' now? If it gets that big NO will basically cease to exist as a metro area for the near future. Image two story office buildings completely under water.
The high winds look cool on TV, but the storm surge is going to demolish such a low lying area.

you are all correct, NO is fucked. no gettin around it. its gonna be completely insane to look at pictures over the next few days about whats goin on. ive got some links to live cameras that are placed over new orleans and hopefully i can check some shit out when it hits.
i personally live in hammond, LA. which should be ok, i mean there is a chance that it will come right to us, but it looks like we are right outside the projected path. plus the apt. i live in is pretty solid.
and at wal-mart it was a joke, only letting a few people in at a time, people fighting outside over who was in line first. no ice left, no bread, no meat, barely ne water, batteries, all that shit...gone. luckily we have all that shit here already. and i dont think ne thing bad will happen to where i stay, perhaps some minor power out but not bad. im not worried at all bout our water and stuff not working. we just bought 5 cases of miller lite, tons of water, food, chips, canned shit. so we are set!!
and we got monopoly and clue!!!!! PWNED!!!!

A guy I play live with here has a small engine repair shop and is loading up his trailer with 35 generators he has. He is on his way to be close by so when its over he said he will make a killing on them, then go to some of the boats at Lake Charles and play some cards.

No doubt the hurricane will cause a lot of damage (and probably a few deaths among those too stupid to leave), but it won't come near destroying New Orleans.
They had the same scare last year, and it ended up being for nothing.
I would be shocked if this storm sunk New Orleans "under 15 feet of water", or anything close.
ummm, i think ya may be wrong with thinking that druff. i have been living here all my life, and there is always talk during hurricane season that one major one and all of new orleans is fucked. cause the levy thing they developed and put up a few years back can only handle (in theory) a cat. 3 hurricane. and they arent even sure it would, well this is a cat. 5 which is about to fuck us up. so im sure a whole lot of bad shit will go down. lets just hope that fucker makes it hard turn north and stays the fuck away from me
