The obv truth is that while in vegas micon has been receiving complaints about how offensive his site is. Since Micon is always convinced his site is about to blow up he uses the "offensive" angle as a scapegoat.
It is also possible that he has been trying to secure funding through other sites which do not wish to associate with him due to the offensive material ont he site. I see this as less likely though.
Here is the real problem. 1. If you want NWP to get big you have to pu in the effort. NWP radio was great at first but is now fizzling. Little effort is being put into the show. It's bascially Micona nd Dan druff hanging out with friends and then later making prank calls. The earlier episodes had more substance and it was obvious more planning was put into them.
2. NWP torunaments It's sad that people like beenstarring have to make these. How cheap is NWP? Disgusting!
3. VIP forum, horrible idea why you would want to disassociate yourself from your own site? So stupid.
4. Most NWPers have small bankrolls give more freerolls. Bodog was great. Otherwise once again its embarassing that the owners do not put a penny back to the community that brings them ad/referal money.
5. Get more active. Maybe its just me but seems like Micon and Neverwin are pretty uninvolved with the site (compared to past). I can't speak for Druff as I don't visit his forum much.
6. Make the site more unique. People come here because the discussion is like no other poker forum. Work to make the site better. This is obviously the hardest point to implement. NWP needs to find ways to seperate themselves from all the other message boards (simply claiming that it is an uncensored message board will only attract teens and more of the people you don't want). Get creative here. NWP has gone stale the last few months and its a direct result of the lack of effort from the owners.

One that micon should be answering honestly.

I'd like to respond to a few of your points, FTNF...
First off, I've never seen Druff and Micon putting more effort into the site than they are right now. Both are contributing a shit ton of writing and time, and have expanded the radio venue as well. But the writing that you don't see is the real backbone of what is changing. The stuff you don't read because it doesn't end up in Shooting Off, is hours and hours of "product" - content that drives traffic in ways you are not aware of. Both Micon and Druff have stepped up to this in a big way in the last few months. The profits from that will be seen down the line.
In addition, during this WSOP, Micon has put himself out there and garnered media attention. He has reported every event here on these boards, and landed himself a gig doing "The Degenerate Report, etc". Yes these are small details, but they add up. All these things bring traffic.
With new traffic come new pressures and opinions. With new input comes change - maybe growing pains. No one wants the basic flavor of NWP to change. No one wants people like Indiana Slim to flip out or leave. But NWP as it is, is slightly less than marketable, no? And if the bottom line is to make money, the site will have to evolve.
Do you think we can strike a balance between the utter loathsome filth we are now, and the white bread, boring, ultra-monitored spew we find on other poker sites? I do.

It's possibly true that they are doing much more than I see. But its embarassing when been starring and ship the perc has to run these things. It gives off a pretty negative impression. I guess from a media stanpoint they are doing well to bring attention to the site. But me being a member and not an owner is of course more interested in making the site better.
