I just finished watching the final episode of the first series of TILT. There were 9 episodes in this opening season.
I actually grew to like the show, and my primary complaint about it is the fact that the poker scenes are, for the most part, stupid and unrealistic. Many of these poker errors could be corrected simply by allowing a knowledgeable poker player review the scenes, and...

I'm playing in the $10+1 rebuys on PokerStars. The rebuy period is over and the blinds are 100/200 with a $25 ante, so the starting pot is $525. I have $9425.
I raise to 400 with the KQ hearts under the gun. Everyone folds to the small blind, who calls. The big blind folds. There is $1225 in the pot
The flop comes J93 with one heart and one spade. The SB bets 200, I raise...

Ok, clearly this hand sucked my ass...and I know I played the river wrong by capping. But, was every other round played right and this is just a sick beat? Or did I fuck up somewhere playing this donk.

I play at the Commerce from time to time, live real close. I am thinking about playing the $9-18 game there on a regular basis. What are your feelings on that game, it is very loose to say the least. What should I look to make in that game if I play it regularly? Thanks

Why did it take Pokerstars so long to create the 10/20 NL tables? And why don't they make higher NL tables like a 25/50?
Is it for the same reason they restrict the 100-200 game?

I'm curious as to what some of you guys think with this. My best friend and I both got into poker together, and he plays his draws more aggresive than I do. For instance, if I am open-ended on the flop, I will almost always semi bluff by opening with a bet (or raising a bet once), however if I am raised I usually will just call, or 3 bet it (if I think the guy is full of shit, which happens often...

Tobey Maguire was at the Bellagio last night (and likely many nights before), playing 100-200 blind NL. He was basically left alone most of the time, until all of the club donks started filtering out, walking past the poker room. Eventually large crowds gathered outside the rail for hours, and my 80-160 table was closest to the railtards. Occasionally someone would shout something stupid, and a...

Okay I have a question about how to play JJ in a certain situation, because me and SolomonL disagree about it.
It's a two-table $5.50 SNG. The blinds are $25/50 I gave the red jacks in the cutoff. We are eight-handed, and two of the first four players limp in. I have $2825 or so in chips. I raise to $250, since i have a lot of chips and I want to thin the field. The button has $2180 a...

Hey Druff, might be good time to get in game with the above. He scored a big win finishing 7th on Party's $600 buy in. It was good for 38K last night. He's now sitting at Pstars 1-2 game. Don't know how good he is but he is definitely taking advantage of his new roll. I've never seen him there before....

Yo Druff:
I am coming to LA next week to play in a few of the $300 buy in tourneys at the Bike, and also for some live action.
I have been told there is a hotel right across the street (a Ramada?), but that it is not very nice. It is like $55 a night. The Commerce and the Wyndam are about double that, plus I should prolly expect $30-$40 in cab fares to get to and from t...

OK - tryed multiple tables today on PokerStars
I was profitable on both tables - increasing my hourly win rate BUT I found my play suffered a bit on each individual table.
Is this to be expected or do I just need more practise playing multiple tables
I found myself using auto check buttons - which probably isnt a good thing.
Do you (or does anyon...

Dan or other good players,
If I'm playing 1/2 or 2/4, if that even matters, what percent of showdowns is acceptable? good? bad? Obviously, it varies on a persons play, but just looking for a general statement.

Here is a situation I had come up and I wanted to get other peoples input for the fun of it:
Playing .50/1 blind NL and you have Q 9 of spades 1 from the button. 4 players limp and you also limp with 6 players seeing the flop. Flop is a miracle of 10 J 8 all spades. There is $6 in the pot and an early players bets $3 and the next player makes it $7. You smooth call and the earlie...

There are of course rare exceptions........ Jennifer Harman and Lenny Martin come to mind....... but for the most part....... the curve is real, real,...

Hey Dan,
Just started up again at my FINAL attempt at building a bankroll on stars. All the times before I had tried I either cashed out my winnings, or lost it all eventually (but never got higher then $700). Anyhow, I just deposited 50... and am going to start SLOW (the reason I lost all my money prior was because I was trying to go up too fast). So I've turned my $50 into $100 in a...

How long should I wait at a limit before moving up? I started playing about 4 months ago and played at 25/50 cent or lower (nl and fl). I tried moving up to .5/1 this week and did a hit and run but mostly was intimidated, and lost the next few sessions after that. Everything has turned around once i stoped being scared and I am up a nice amount overall at .5/1. Given your experience, how long...

Hello All,
I was wondering if you could please help me out. I use to play a lot of online poker years ago, back when there was only like five sites, lol. Now of days I hardly play at all. I still enjoy the game, but I guess I am afraid of losing. I hate playing against fish that chase you down (i.e.) five players calling you on the turn. If you could give me some advice on how to mak...
