Been playing quite a bit of Heads Up SNGS (turbos) anything from 11.50 to 57.50(except for when I got hammered and played a $520, thank god I sucked out) Have been having a ton of success at the lower games playing "physco aggro" raising 4xbb preflop EVERY hand, Cbetting 3/4 pot when the opponent actually calls Every time, anyway, this has shown me that eventually the other g...

Changes in game and how do you handle this?
I took a good two or three year break from playing live. I've always played typically around the limits of 1/3. When I use to play I was pretty good and could pretty much always figure out what was going on at the table. Pretty much the only all in I would lose would be preflop when my AA got cracked or another sick beat boat vs. boat, etc... I went to the casino last weekend and sat with...

If it weren't for luck, I'd never loose!
I have been playing NL for about 3 years now; hold’em for over 20. For the most part, I think I have the “basics” down. But I can’t seem to avoid those one or two hands that simply destroy my stack < insert BB story about 2 and 3 outers here >. Time and time again, I get my chips in the middle “with the best of it” and time and time again, my chips go to the guy holding AQ to...

Mostly related to card counting
Many people believe a lot of incorrect things when it comes to blackjack and card counting -- even people who often believe they know a lot about both. Here are some examples:
MYTH #1: If you get thrown out of a blackjack game for counting cards, it's probably because your "act" wasn't good enough.
FACT #1: Acts can only take you so far. Most peopl...

suppose you have ako and ur opponent 76o. suppose you know for sure that if you raise 4xBB he will fold and if you raise 3xBB he will call.
if he folds he makes a mistake as he has enough equity to call and if he calls he is making the correct play (mathematically) but what he does is up to you. what should you do?
this is a tricky question for me because it...

Okay, it is an online NL tourney, about 120 players left. I have about 10,000 chips. Blinds are 200 400. 4 limpers preflop, I am in the small blind with T7cc. I call the 200 and the big blind checks. 2650 is in the pot going into the flop. Flop comes Ts 7s 5s. I bet 2000, everybody folds execpt for the button who calls. Turn is 5 of diamonds. Can you kill NL games but suck at limit? Or do you have the opposite problem? Perhaps consider the fact that you might not be adjusting right. Take a look at these mistakes NL and Limit players make when playing the "other" game...
Mistakes NL players make playing limit:
1) Bluff-raising an opponent who appears to be holding top pair or better. ...

Consider the table conditions are that it's 5 handed and you are in position against an aggro player but nothing insane for being short handed. You hold A3 / 4 / 6.
Do you call the raise? Reraise, or just dump it. assume they are off suit.
How about Q5, K6 hands like that from the BB with a raiser and no other action? Float them or peel off a flop?
I'm...

This is what created the monster
This is the specific piece of deregulation that torpedoed our economy
A milestone in the deregulation effort came in the fall of 2000, when a lame-duck session of Congress passed a little-noticed piece of legislation called the Commodity Futures Modernization Act. The bill effectively kept much of the market for derivatives and other exotic instruments off-limits to agencie...

Oklahoma Laws prohibit house banked card games. To get around this at blackjack they run a player pool banked blackjack game. The Casino Charges .50 per hand to place a bet (at the local joint you can bet 5 to 200, anything over 100 is an extra .50) and is suppose to give back all money made threw the wagers. The casinos often run Player pool promotions such as suited blackjacks pay 50 bucks,...

I've thought a lot recently about AK in NL tournaments. I have come to the conclusion that, for the most part, it sucks -- especially earlier in a tournament when there is much more post-flop play.
AK's problem is that it will never get much action post-flop when you hit, unless someone has a better hand.
Take this all-too-common scenario:
Someone raises p...
