If you play blackjack and are tired of losing money, read this thread.
Note that the information here will not automatically make you a winning blackjack player. Note that showing a profit in blackjack can sometimes take a long time, as the edge is small and the variance is high. However, you can greatly improve your odds in blackjack by just taking a small amount of time to learn t...

Degenerates,
This is the one small place on the site for serious poker discussion. As much as I hate censorship, I am going to have to ask that everyone refrain from insulting the posters over here.
If you want to attack people, the "Shooting Off" forum is certainly the place to do it. There is very little serious poker discussion on this site as it is, so let's not rui...

Poll:
JJ, calling off your entire stack
$50+$5 daily at Stars, 22 people left. First place is about $15k, the top seven or so places are $2k+ but busting outside the final table only pays a few hundred dollars and would be a huge disappointment after playing for seven hours.
Blinds 5k/10k. I have a little over 200k, which is almost exactly average, the chipleader has about 350k (actually pretty good struct...

Stars refuses to let me change my avatar, I've requested a few times now, but I guess I already changed it once like 2 years ago. But I know all kinds of people who were able to change theirs multiple times, but I suspect they contribute more rake than me. Any ideas? Maybe a Finkelstein letter?

I just bubbled (meaning not the actual bubble, but within a few places of a cash & final table) in the $500 Limit at Hollywood Park tonight.
This was particularly offensive because:
1) I took a ton of awful beats on big hands
2) Despite #1, I had a nice stack (among the best in the tournament) with 14 people left -- and I went out 13th.
They only paid t...

Well, I played 5/10 limit for a long time grinding out slightly more than a call center job, then found NL and was able to make plenty without playing anywhere near as many hours, and now the NL games are really tough. I think 1/2 is fish central, but it's getting tougher and 2/4 and up are pretty bad games. Not to say there aren't good games now and again, but generally if you're a...

I've recently come across a 20/40 game with a $8 rake. It gets down to $1 per person when under 8 people. (sigh) The lineup is pretty decent, but nothing extrodinary. I've ran pretty bad in this game and am wondering if it is worth the effort. There are no legal limit games within a few hours drive from here, so this game has convienence, good food, and the people are pr...

on an outdoor table on the strip in vegas
Let's say you are playing a game of 1/2 no limit poker on an outdoor table on the strip in Las Vegas, and like, a bird dies and falls on you. Should you finish the hand and discard the bird, maybe give it to like, a cat, or just ask the table to hold on for a second and find a cat to give that dead bird to. In the past, playing high limit Limit Texas Hold Em, when dead birds fall on you and...

So I've been playing on Pokerstars for about 6 months now, not really getting too serious on it, just buying in $20-40 and playing around with it. The level of play wasn't as bad/talented as I expected it to be. I'm going to be honest and say I lost my first 2-3 buyins, but when I deposited $100 I did pretty well with it. The thing is, I got arrogant and played higher stak...

So we all hear about poker bankrolls, but what about blackjack bankrolls for counters? Given that your edge is only small even if you are a succesful counter, how many bets should you have in your bankroll. Perhaps that isnt the best way to phrase the question given that your bet sizes wont be the same all the time, so exactly how do you calculate a blackjack bankroll?...

Again, all Turbo HU Sngs.
Alright, so lets say I plan on playing 40 110+5$ SNG turbos/day and I want to project the entire net profit/ total gross etc of 15 weeks.
Heres how we start, I just don't know how to calculate the toal profit for each hypothetic ROI I want to look up.

Back in the day, I used to be able to fire up 6 tables of $10-20 lhe on party and crush it on a regular basis. I would just play like a robot and rake in the money.
