If you play blackjack and are tired of losing money, read this thread.
Note that the information here will not automatically make you a winning blackjack player. Note that showing a profit in blackjack can sometimes take a long time, as the edge is small and the variance is high. However, you can greatly improve your odds in blackjack by just taking a small amount of time to learn t...

Degenerates,
This is the one small place on the site for serious poker discussion. As much as I hate censorship, I am going to have to ask that everyone refrain from insulting the posters over here.
If you want to attack people, the "Shooting Off" forum is certainly the place to do it. There is very little serious poker discussion on this site as it is, so let's not rui...

2nd level 50/100 blinds I have 5200 of 6k starting stack. Avg is 7k UTG and UTG+1 have both been tight/solid, shown down top hands, not gotten out of line.
UTG makes it 250. UTG+1 calls. I'm SB with 10-10 and call. The pot is 900.
Flop comes Jd5d5. I donkbet 500 and both players call. The pot is now 2400.
Turn is an offsuit Ace. It gets...

Listened to NWP radio and Druff you mentioned you heebed up $500 to $200k on cake. Could you please go into more detail about this?
a) How long did it take?
b)What limits were you playing when you had $500? at $1000? at $10,000? at $100,000? basically when did you move up levels.
c)Was it Limit, or NL - I know you are a limit player...

Yesterday, I found myself in not one, not two, but THREE drawing situations where I picked up draws while being below-average stacked. These were all early in the event.
I'd like to get everyone's opinion on these, and please don't just simply say "shove all in" because being aggressive sounds cooler. I think there's an argument to be had on both sides of eac...

Sometimes the time is right to re-bluff. Is this one of them?
Situation:
You are in late position with QcTc at a live, 9-handed 100-200 limit hold 'em game.
A semi-donk limps from early position. Folds to you. You raise to isolate him. Button cold-calls, SB calls, BB calls, limper calls.
Flop:
7d-5s-5d
Checks to you. You...

Before I can consider myself a solid winning player?
I just curious about people's opinions. I play NLHE live and a bit online as well. I know it probably depends on the speed of the game and so on, but generally how many BBs per hour should I be winning (as a long-term average) before I can consider myself a good, winning player?
How does the answer change if I play online? Would it be per table per hour instead of per hour?...

We will use a $530 satillite at the rio as an example. In this event, 10 players play a single table tourney, and first place gets 10 $500 wsop chips. Usually the final 2 or 3 or whatever end up chopping. Before the thing starts often times most of the players do a last longer bet for $100 or $200. My question is, would it be -EV to join the last longer bet? My reason for think...

I just received a letter in the mail saying i owe ~$300 for 3k in tournament winnings from 2007. I looked for receipts from 2007 and all I could find were the receipts to the 2 tournaments I cashed in. So my main question is can I deduct the buy in to the 2 tournaments (~1300) from the 3k I won? This would nearly cut the tax in half. Without a hard copy for other tourneys I played in,...

How to play a passive player heads up
I have been playing a lot more live NL cash lately, in part due to the limit games drying up big time (especially in Vegas).
Last night, I showed up to Bellagio to play a 4-handed 60-120 limit game, only to find that the 4 people were all winning regulars. I wasn't going to waste my time with that crap. Instead, I decided to join a heads-up 10-20 NL game (making myself the 3rd pla...

Ok so I've been playing this game for like 5 years now (LHE) and still don't really know what to do here. My local lhe game is pretty ridiculous. It is 10/20 and 15/30 with 20/40 once a week. There are some decent players but overall its a bunch of nits or limpdonks. It plays super poorly. People limp all over the place and call 2 cold easy. So usually you have 4+ going to each flop. How long have you been a winning player?
Which WSOP events do you normally play/plan on playing?
