live rebuy tournaments

it seems like every poker series in la has a couple rebuy tourneys mixed in. why don't we see any in vegas tournaments?

i hate rebuys. if i play a live tourney i won't play rebuys.

serious question for anyone who does well in rebuys....what is your shoving/calling range in 3 handed pots early in the tourney knowing 3 will see the flop? obv give examples for 3best/4bet/call ranges. i'm +ev in freeze outs but have had 0 success in limited online rebuys(have played 2-3 live).


the last $5 rebuy i played on cake i was in for ~50ish and built a stack up to 4x double buyin in and then i go out all in with QQ vs. AQ vs. 9-10 and the stack that has me covered obv hits. that's cool but what are the ranges with that each is shoving/calling with if i am the original raiser and the 9-10 is calling off if your opponants are unknown?

oh..how many double rebuys do you guys set aside if you're properly rolled? i've always wondered this. in the live rebuys i've played(few) i've done 2-4. online i'll do more since i don't play higher than ~$30 rebuys if and when i do.

i just play like a jew the first hour and don't really gamble. i don't call anything i wouldn't call with in a freezeout pretty much. usually someone will still double you up. my philosophy with the whole thing is i'm making money in the longrun by conserving buy-ins while picking up dead buy-ins from others when i cash. i hear a lot of guys say "i need 10k chips before 1st break" but i'm fine with 5k. true, before i know it i'll end up being a short stack. but 1, there's still a lot of time to play with 5k after first break and 2, when you're short, everyone has a big stack so they're likely to call and double you up trying to bust you. also, i don't even add-on if i have like 7.5k.
