Any opinions on this? I played poker 10 hours per day every day for 3 years, and never ever ever in my life have I ran as bad as I run in the cake 6 handed sngs.

Normally I would laugh this off, but with the current scandals in online poker, who knows?

Especially with a smaller network like Cake.

Yeah im probably wrong. I have always laughed at these theories too, but im dead serious that I have never ran as bad anywhere in my life as I run in these sngs. You know those days where no matter what you arent going to win a crucial all in, and will not win any coinflips? Everybody that plays enough has those days. Back in the party sngs i'd have a day like that once or twice a month. On cake, I have that day twice a week, and I lose infinite. And yes, that day was yesterday thats probably the reason for this post. I know sonantine is a big cake is rigged believer, I was hoping he'd come in and tell me im right.

QUOTE(reggiman @ Oct 24 2008, 11:16 AM) *

Yeah, the heads up players there are awful, even the regulars. I played some guy a week or two ago in 10 20 that I am convinced was a bot, but I kept playing "it" because it was so bad. Every time i'd open raise the button he'd 3 bet no matter what he had. It got to the point where i was capping pre with a2. And he'd play really weak after the flop, I always knew where I was at the whole time. And, strange donk bets on the river. i'd bet the whole way with top pair, then on the river an offsuit deuce would hit, so he'd fire out and donk bet, I raise my top pair and he calls... he shows a2 for bottom pair top kicker.... Who the fuck value bets a rivered bottom pair like that? I was convinced it was a bot so I just decided to only make plays that were plus EV, zero psychology and zero mixing it up. I ended up going from being down $1000 to him to winning $1300. $2300 swing is pretty good for 10 20. You ever play people there that you think are bots, but play them anyway?

And also, their software freezes regularly. I was on 8 sngs yesterday, 6 $52 ones and 2 $34.50 ones. My software froze and I ended up getting fucked out of my tourneys from the software freezing. It happened to some other people at the table too so I knew it wasn't my computer. I asked one of the regulars if it happened to him and he said it did. So I asked him if he was going to email cake and he said "naw, im used to it by now." So apparent the regulars are willing to accept the fact that occasionally the software will freeze and they will get fucked out of buy ins. They are willing to accept this because these sngs have the softest players anywhere, plus the rakeback program is top top. Cake decided that I did get fucked, and they sent me $104 which is gay. I was in almost $400 worth of sngs, but I guess thats the cost of doing business with this site.

Oh well, off to play some more. Im sure since I had a bad day yesterday I will win a little money today.

Hey now, I'm one of those hu regulars ASHAMED.GIF

Everyone complains that the software freezes for them. For some reason I must have a super computer (Mac Pro OBV), because I've never had the software freeze on me once after probably 2000 hours of playing there.

Now that I think about it everyone that's told me that plays on laptops. Although when I was in Vegas for the WSOP I played on cake daily for 6weeks on my Macbook Pro and didn't see it either.

I've talked to people on both sides. Some say it freezes up regularly and some have never had it freeze up. When it from up on me though yesterday it was somewhat working. I could occasionally unfreeze and play a hand. When I would I would see that 2-3 players from each table were sitting out, so it was something with cake's server. They even admitted that it was their fault, too bad they only gave me $100.

Yeah but the garbage sites with their shitty software will always be infinitely more profitable. Other than a few bucks that I won in 2004 at stars every penny I've ever earned in poker has come from sites other than stars, party, and full tilt.

Games like the 150/300GBP in the early days of crypto and 150/300 at Doyles Room where I first ran into the buzz saws known as TommyBoy83 and O may never be seen again. Luckily for all of us Guy Lalibrete (sp) and plenty of other mega tards played that game every day and we all made a killing while all the other pros were banging heads with each other at stars 100.

Yeah, we've been saying that cake may be the last online goldmine for U.S. players. Why do the retards flock to little sites like these rather than going to the big sites?

Cake is a sportsbook.com skin
InterPoker (Crypto) was part of InterCasino... once the largest online casino
Doyle's Room was on the Golden Palace network.

Yeah i have heard they have up to 8 skins but there has been a minor problem as of late. Some kid i was playing 5-10 with told me there were 10-20 and 20-40 games running or sportsbook and not on cake so the cake trafiic in these games has been lower and the 3-6 games have been fillling up a lot more.

one big problem with cake's software is that it is a huge huge memory hog.

the crappier and oolder your computer the more you will have the software lock up, be forced to ctrl+alt+del and then restart the client, on my old computer i had to do this all the time and when i played HU sngs it basically meant i was forfeiting the match

i dont play cake all the time anymore but there was an instance about 2 months ago where the network itself had issues, it was while i was playing a tourney and about half of the other players at the table were also sitting out so i knew it was a network problem... followed up by the inability to connect with the site immed after

if you think its bad now you should have tried it a year and a half ago, every night there was a outage on their network

long story short if your computer sucks, you need more RAM, if your computer really sucks RAM wont help you probably should get a new computer

Yeah most of the time all the skins share all the same tables. The only time I ever saw different were on AP skins when AP started the BB Jackpot and the skins weren't in on it. So if you were on VegasPoker247 you wouldn't see jackpot tables.

Wow, lost another $666 today. That means im down almost $2000 playing $34.50 and $52 sngs in the last 2 days. Thats insane. I didn't know that was possible. Im going to pick up a 12 pack, then im going to attempt bankroll suicide in plo when I get back. seems like a lot easier death than slowly grinding my bankroll down to $0 playing sit n goes.

The one thing I can definitely agree with you on is that sngs are a waste of time. You can make more playing 0.50/1.00 limit than $52 sngs, probably twice as much per hour.
