Mark Newhouse returns to glory..Takes down Pokerstars Sunday Million
On Sunday I was talking to Newhouse via text and he texted me back, “I have to concentrate I’m still in the Pokerstars Sunday Mil and the Pokerstars Sunday 500.” About 4 hours later, I check both tournaments to find Mark Newhouse A.K.A Newhizzle 2nd in chips with 16 people left in the Million with a huge rail and a ton of buzz. Then I look at the Sunday 500 and see Newhizzle is also 4th in chips with about 15 people left. Could he possibly win both of the two biggest tournaments on Pokerstars on the same day? Unfortunately, he went out 13th in the 500- taking home $3761 for his efforts, but he wasn't done yet. In the Mil with 10 people left he started punishing the short handed table until it finally broke. He went into the final table neck and neck with the other tables’ chip leader, both having a huge dominant chip lead over the rest of the pack.
Newhouse never took his foot off the pedal, just like he did when he ran over the table to capture his first WPT title. This time was no different as he is definitely dangerous with chips. He kept tangling with the other big stack despite 4 other very short stacks still on the table. He took a pretty huge beat when his KK lost to 10-10. However, he bounced back and found himself heads up against the other chip leader when the final table begun. The heads up match didn't last very long, in fact it only lasted one hand when he was dealt JJ against A10 and went all in preflop. No deal was made and Newhouse pocketed a cool Quarter million being the last one standing out of 8358 players.
Newhouse was going to blog about how he plans to rise again to Poker Stardom, instead he choose to just take down the Sunday Million and let his accomplishments speak louder than words. Nice work man, just keep owning heads.
This blog wouldn't be complete if I left out one of the funniest things I caught in the chat. It was still 5 handed and there was a break. Newhouse writes in chat, "I can't believe I am out of cigs, can someone please bring me a pack?", followed by, "I was going to smoke the butts out of the ash tray, but then I found an extra pack in one of my jacket pockets", Wow am I running good today!" LOL, I knew that once you found that extra pack you were going to win it all! I guess you really were running good.
