The American baseball superstar Alex Rodriguez aka A-Rod has played illegal underground poker games which took place in the record label owner's Cody Leibel's $16.5 million Beverly Hills mansion. Despite the fact that he had been warned by the Major League Baseball (MLB) authorities no to take part in these games, A-Rod continued playing poker illegally.

Games, during which blow was used by some of the players were run by the infamous Hollywood underground poker game coordinator Molly Bloom who also helped Rodriguez to set up poker games at his own place in Miami. RadarOnline.com has published the story yesterday revealing some very interesting details about these underground games.

Poker pro Dan Bilzerian who also took part, told Star: “Molly ran one game at Cody’s mansion. [One player] got all coked up. Everyone had to chase Cody down for the money, and he later paid me a sum and gave me a watch but stiffed me for $100,000.”

Although the names of players using cocaine have not been disclosed, the list of people at the tables features the kind of famous movie producer Rick Salomon and a poker pro, 2008 WSOP $10K NLH Heads Up event winner Kenny Tran. However, it appears that A-Rod tried not to get involved in all the shenanigans that took place outside the game.

“He just shook his head, not knowing what the hell happened,” said an anonymous player. “He didn’t want to deal with it at all. He was like, ‘OK, whatever. It’s your game.’ I would estimate A-Rod lost, like, a few thousand dollars that night. After everything that happened, he paid-up and left.”

However, the MLB executive told ESPN that A-Rod is very likely to get penalized: “We're talking to people involved in the investigation and we're taking this very seriously. Because he had been warned about this before, I would say a possible suspension would be very much in play.”

Alex Rodriguez who plays for New York Yankees is considered to be one of the best baseball players of all time. In 2009 he dated a Hollywood actress Kate Hudson and is currently in a relationship with Cameron Diaz.

This is not the first time when A-Rod appears in a middle of a scandal – two years ago he admitted to have used steroids.
